Villa. c1831. By William Thomas. Pinkish-brown brick with
painted stucco front facade, Welsh slate roof and cast-iron
verandah. Central hallway plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic, 3-window range. Quoins to
angles. Entrance: segmental-headed opening with tooled
architrave, within recess a part-glazed, 4-panel door between
margin lights, with overlight with diamond glazing bars.
Tripartite French windows: 8 between 4 panes, with blind
boxes. First floor cornice. 2/2 sashes within Venetian
shutters and boxes with slender pilasters and moulded
cornices.Dentil, egg-and-dart and modillion cornice. Blocking
course with balusters, surmounted by 4 balls. Hipped roof, end
stacks. Attic to gable. Ground floor continuous verandah has
slender, turned columns and glazed roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Beauchamp Avenue was laid out as Beauchamp
Terrace c1828, most of the north side built by 1838.
Forms an architectural group with Nos 27-37 (odd) and 41
Beauchamp Avenue (qqv).
