2 houses now shops. c1808-1816 with later alterations
including mid-C20 ground floor shop fronts. Numbered right to
left, described left to right.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3 bays, with range to left of 3 storeys,
2 first-floor windows, angled on plan. Brick with painted
stucco facades and Welsh slate roofs.
Left range: first floor: fielded Tuscan pilasters to ends and
between bays; central 8/8 sash between 4/4 sashes with
margin-lights all within taller segmental-headed reveal; to
side bays are blind, round-arched recesses. Cornice, central
pediment.
Range to right: 2 multi-pane casements in plain reveals;
second floor: 3/3 sash and casement window in plain reveals
and with sills; frieze and cornice; left stack with cornice.
Ground floors have plate-glass shop fronts.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Clemens Street was laid out in 1808,
buildings on either side completed by 1818.
No.6 was formerly known as Marble Bath.
