Pair of houses. Mid C19 with later additions and alterations.
Pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond with painted stucco front
facades to main range and painted brick facade to right range,
with fish-scale Welsh slate roof.
EXTERIOR: main range of 3 storeys, 3 first-floor windows with
recessed 2-storey, single-window range to right. Main range:
outer bays are gabled, centre is recessed slightly. Plinth.
Moulded and chamfered first-floor sill band.
First floor: two 6/6 sashes and one 4/12 sash, all in
chamfered reveals with hoodmoulds.
Ground floor: central recessed entrance a 4-panel, part-glazed
door with cusped lancets, within 4-centred opening. 6/6 sashes
with chamfered sills in chamfered reveals and with hoodmould.
Right range: first floor has 6/6 sash; ground floor has 6/6
sash, all with chamfered reveals and with cambered arches;
left side entrance a 4-panel door with tracery to upper panels
within 4-centred, chamfered arch.
Main range has decorative bargeboards to gables and shaped
kneelers, tall left and right stacks with decorative bands;
side range has decorative bargeboards.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Russell Terrace was laid out c1828-36.
