13/10/52 No.87
(Formerly Listed as:
LONDON ROAD
No.87
St Bartholomew's Vicarage)

II

Terraced house, though designed as detached. 1822-30 with
later additions. Probably designed by Amon Wilds and Charles
Augustine Busby. Stucco, with render to the wings, roof of
slate.
2 storeys, 5-window range. The central part of the house is of
3-window range, double-fronted, under a hipped roof, and there
are 2 wings, slightly set back to either side, finished in
render and with parapets; they are presumably additions and of
a single date. On the principal part, the ground floor is
decorated with banded rustication; 4 fluted Ionic pilasters
flanking the 3 central openings. Round-arched entrance with
fanlight, the entrance and the flat-arched ground-floor
windows set back under round arches; stucco band of ornate
guilloche ornament; sashes of original design to first floor;
boxed eaves; side stacks. The wings have a flat-arched
entrance to the left with overlight and flat-arched windows
with splayed reveals.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
