House. Probably early C18, remodelled C19 and C20.
Pinkish-brown brick with section of small, square panels of
timber-framing to rear, plain-tile roof and brick stacks.
3-unit plan in 2 stages of build, range to left is slightly
taller; range to right incorporates a C20 garage.
EXTERIOR: single storey with attic, 5-window range. C20 plank
door under elliptical arch. Renewed C20 bow window to left,
multi-pane casement to right. Attic: small casement window to
left, then 4 gabled dormers, all with multi-pane casements.
Gabled roofs with external end stacks.
INTERIOR: exposed timber-framing to rear wall and to first
floor. Beamed ceilings. Exposed purlins.
Elmdene, Wood Lane Farmhouse, Wood Lane (qv) and Appletree
Cottage and Vine Cottage (qv) form a group.
