Farmhouse. c1820 with later alterations. Reddish-brown brick
in Flemish bond with Welsh slate roof. Central hallway plan
with double range to rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows. End pilaster
strips. Central entrance: part-glazed 4-panel door with
overlight within doorcase of Tuscan pilasters, frieze, cornice
and stylized pediment. Outer windows are 8/8 sashes, to
first-floor the centre window is a 6/6 sash, all under flat
arches, those to ground floor are channelled; sills. Stepped
eaves band. Gabled roof. Ridge stacks. Farmers' Union firemark
to left gable end.
INTERIOR: 6-panel doors to front part, board doors to rear.
Shutters to front windows. Beams to most rooms, to rear some
are chamfered with ogee stops, to front mainly boxed. To front
left room, ground floor, a fireplace with decorative corbels,
first floor has cast-iron fireplaces. Narrow open-well
staircase has short stick balusters.
Forms a group with Stables and Cart Sheds (qv) and Threshing
Barn (qv).
