Threshing barn at Preston Bagot Farm

GV II

Threshing barn. Probably mid/late C18 with later repairs.
Reddish brick in stretcher bond to lower stage with
timber-framing and weatherboarding to upper stage,
corrugated-iron to gable end and renewed plain-tile gabled
roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 bays. Central opposing split plank threshing
doors. Breathers to lower stage.
INTERIOR: has square timber-framing with angle braces to side
walls. Rebuilt walls to side of threshing floor. Truncated
collar-and-tie-beam truss with queen struts at either side of
threshing bay and to gable ends; 2 tiers of exposed purlins,
rafters and wind braces.
Forms a group with Farmhouse (qv) and Stables and Cart Sheds
(qv).
