Shop with offices above. C16 or C17 with C19 alterations and
addition and early C20 shop front. Timber-frame with partly
plastered brick cladding; gabled slate roof with L-plan brick
stack with cap to rear wing. 2-unit plan with extension to
left and rear wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 2-window range with 3-storey,
single-window part to left. Bracketed fascia with frieze and
cornice over ground floor; plain eaves, but top brick cornice
with wide dentils to left.
Shop front has recessed central entrance with small-paned
glazed door; flanking canted shop windows with leaded upper
lights are joined by cambered leaded glass fascia; entrance
with panelled door and through passage to left. First floor
has 2 windows with stucco wedge lintels over 10/10 sashes;
canted oriel to left has 2/2:8/8:2/2 sashes, and second floor
one 4/8 sash; all sashes horned.
Right return just visible, with wall post and ends of tie beam
and principal visible to first floor.
INTERIOR: ground floor has chamfered beams; some beams are
richly moulded.
