Barn. C17 with later additions. Timber-frame with brick infill
on coursed rubble plinth; thatch and tile roofs.
EXTERIOR: 5-bay barn with 2 entrances to threshing floors with
paired plank doors; square framing with braces to wall plates
and tension braces. South-west gable has weatherboarding over
lower outbuilding with similar details, south-east side has
brick catslide outshut and entrance with split door, end has
window and pitching hole, rear has pitching hole. North-east
end has attached C19 brick stable with segmental-headed
windows flanking similar wide entrance.
INTERIOR: tie beam trusses with struts on inner wall posts;
central trusses with low partitions, one partition of
timber-frame with some brick infill, other of rubble with
tension braces, one truss with king and queen struts to
collar; outer trusses with braced tie beams.
Site believed to have monastic connections.
