GV II

Farmhouse. c1600 or earlier with C18 alterations; c1810 front
range. Brick, with buff headers to front range; timber-frame
with brick infill to rear and right return; old tile roof with
brick end stacks. Rear range projects to left and has
double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: front range of 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window
range. Top dentiled brick cornice. Entrance has moulded frame
to early C20 door and simple porch with swept roof on poles.
Windows have sills, and rubbed brick flat arches over 6/6
sashes. Gabled roof. Rear range projecting to left has hipped
end gable and varied windows with C20 small-paned casements;
part of wall to right is later brick.
Return has pointed entrance and low segmental-headed window
with 3-light horizontally sliding sash. Right return has 2
gables, that to rear is timber-framed.
Rear is of square framing with varied small-paned casements
and 2 entrances; right end has outshut under catslide roof
with C19 gabled dormer; single-storey service wing.
INTERIOR: exposed timber-frame to cross walls and large
fireplace with bressumer and bread oven, cupboard with
wide-boarded door to left.
