Row house, with shop. C16, C18 front, modified C19.
Timber-framing, rendered and colourwashed, rubble, double
gabled roof with ridge at right angles to street covered with
clay triple roll tiles.
PLAN: a double-depth plan, but the ground floor opened to a
continuous space; to the right is a through-passage, with 3
heavy rough-chamfered beams bearing on the wall of No.25 (qv).
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3 bays. Later C20 shop front across
ground floor, with 3-light display window and deep recess to
right, with doors to shop and ginnel to rear. Upper floors
have 12-pane sash windows with timber architraves,
wrought-iron brackets for hanging baskets at each end,
first-floor sill level.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
With No.25 adjoining, and probably of the same date, as No.25
(qv). This an early property in which the original fabric has
been concealed by refashioning the frontage.
