GREETE

SO57SE Stables 40 metres north-west of
582-1/4/100 Stoke Court

GV II

Stable block. Early C18 with C19 alterations. Brick, partly on
rubble stone plinth. Old tile roof with brick-coped gable
ends. 5-bay range, aligned east-west.
EXTERIOR: single storey with loft. North front with 3 loft
openings in chamfered oak frames with single casement to left.
3 stable doors each with flanking windows all in brick
segmental-arched openings. West gable with single casement
with segmental lintel. East gable covered by gabled
stone-rubble single-storey extension bay.
South side: 3 C19 and C20 casements in earlier brick-blocked
openings, the centre being a former coach-house entrance.
INTERIOR: twin trenched-purlin roof with 3 trusses of twin
vertical struts to high collar flanked by raking struts and
early king post truss to west bay. Former living accommodation
in east loft bay.
