HOPE BAGOT

GV II

House. C17 with C19 alterations. Painted timber frame with
painted brick infill at first floor with rubble stone ground
floor and gable end. Plain-tile roofs with bargeboards. One
integral and one projecting C19 brick gable-end stacks. 4
framed-bay range of 2 storeys and attic aligned east-west,
with end extension of single storey.
EXTERIOR: south front has square framing 2 panels high. 2
metal 2-light casements at first floor, 2 metal 3-light
casements at ground floor, with central wide 6-panel boarded
door and projecting C20 gabled canopy. Single-storey tiled
gabled end extension to left with moulded mullion and transom
window.
North side: square framing 2 panels high at first floor with 2
casements on each floor with the right-hand first-floor
casement retaining C17 moulded sill with 2 carved brackets.
Single-storey extension to right.
East gable end: gable-end truss with straight moulded tie beam
with ovolo chamfer and twin trenched-purlin roof. Truss
infilled with brick. 2-light casement in attic.
INTERIOR: ovolo-chamfered bridging beams at first floor.
