Barn. Probably C18. Roughly-coursed sandstone rubble with
quoins, stone slate roof. Rectangular 5-bay plan on
north-south axis, built on boundary between garden of Howgill
House and lane leading to Doulby Croft. The east side has a
wagon doorway to the 2nd bay protected by a lean-to porch with
timber lintel and stone slate roof; one small window to the
left and another to the right. The south gable wall has 3
tiers of pigeon holes in a triangular pattern, with ledges.
Rear and interior not inspected.
Forms group with Howgill House (qv).
