GV II

2 weavers'cottages, now 2 houses. Mid C18 with C20
alterations. Narrow coursed millstone grit with tooled ashlar
dressings. Synthetic tiled roof to main range, Welsh and stone
slate roofs to rear wing. End stacks with weathering.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with single storey rear wing possibly
former loomshop.
Street front has regular 3 window range. Central doorway with
flush ashlar surround and C20 door, and similar doorway to
right with glazed C20 door, to left tiny fixed window. To
right single 3-light flush mullion window with central sash,
to left 3-light C20 casement in flush ashlar surround, beyond
blocked doorway in flush ashlar surround. Above central C20
casement window in similar surround, to right single 3-light
flush mullion window with central sash and to left 3-light
mullion window with C20 casements. Above again similar window
arrangement with C20 casements to right window, all at eaves
level.
Both end walls are rendered. C20 extension to right.
Rear wing also rendered has some windows in original openings
and blocked taking-in door to eaves level at rear of main
range. Some minor C20 extensions.
INTERIOR: of No.22A retains cast-iron fireplace with cupboards
to either side, ceiling beams and stone flag floor to
principle room.
