House built for the Heathcote estate.
MATERIALS: exposed red brick on a low plinth of squared stone
blocks. Cast iron window sills. Slated roof, hipped to left
end. Brick stacks to rear.
PLAN: double depth plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 3-window front facing east, with doorway
in place of middle ground storey window; 2 window return front
to Chapel Street. Cambered arches over 8-paned sashes except
for 6-paned ones in the middle upper-storey window in the east
front. Round-arched doorway with rusticated surround of
painted stone or cement, 4-panelled door, the 2 lower panels
flush, and fanlight with 2 radial bars.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORY: door surround at No.79 similar to those used in the
Heathcoat-built houses of the late 1850s in St Paul Street
(qv).
