Description

BARNSTAPLE

SS5533 PILTON STREET, Pilton
684-1/6/349 (West side)
31/12/73 No.26

GV II

House. Early/mid C19 appearance, but probably C17, perhaps
part of a larger house originally. Solid rendered front.
Slated roof. 2 storeys. 2-window range. Doorway to right with
half-glazed late C20 door. To left, 3-light wood casement
window with 6 panes per light, although in the 2 outer lights
the top 2 panes have been replaced by a transom-light. Upper
storey has blind window to right; to left a 2-light wood
casement window with 8 panes per light.
INTERIOR not inspected but known to have old ceiling beam to
ground floor. Floor level is well below pavement level
outside, which usually suggests an early date.
