House, now 3 dwellings. Early C18 with later extension to
right. Purple brick with red brick dressings; pantiled roof
behind parapet.
2 storeys, 5 bays with extension (now No.1) of 2 storeys, 1
main bay. Main doorcase is timber with shaped consoles,
pulvinated frieze and pediment with modillion cornice. 2 later
doors added in C20: one replacing former window to right of
main door, the other to left of window in extension. Sash
windows with glazing bars, those to main house with red brick
segmental arches and dressings and flush frames, those to
extension square-headed. Red brick band below parapet and at
1st floor.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Originally associated with the claypits and brick kiln which
lay nearby.
Nos 1-6 (consec), 9 & 10 Pond Cottages (qqv) form a group.
