Includes: No.1 NORTH PLACE.
House, now offices, with attached area balustrade. c1820-50
with later additions and alterations, including C20 attic
dormers. Ashlar with slate mansard roof, hipped at left, right
end stack; cast- and wrought-iron balustrade and balconies.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attics, 3 first-floor windows. 6/6
sashes throughout, taller to ground and first floors, all in
plain reveals and with sills. First-floor band. Cornice. Attic
dormers have 3/3 sashes. All windows are replacements of
c1990. Central entrance has 2-columnar Tuscan portico with
engaged pilasters, frieze, cornice and blocking course;
6-panel door with side-lights and segmental overlight. Similar
2-window range to left return.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: area balustrade with cross motif to
right. Return to left has balconies to first-floor with scroll
and lozenge motif.
Forms a group with and abuts No.2 North Place (qv).
