Terrace of 3 houses with attached railings. c1820-1850 with
later additions and alterations. Stucco over brick with
concealed roof, brick and stucco end and party-wall stacks,
and wrought- and iron balconies and railings.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics, basement to right return, 3
first-floor window range, with breakforward to right. Stucco
detailing includes banded rustication to ground floor;
first-floor sill band surmounted by paired end Doric
pilasters, and between windows, frieze and first-floor
cornice. Further pilasters to attic with 'capitals'
incorporated into cornice. First floor has mainly 6/6 sashes;
attics have mainly 3/3 sashes, all in plain reveals. Ground
floor: tripartite sashes, 6/6 between 2/2 where original in
wide cambered arched surrounds with voussoirs to head.
Entrances: No.79 has 3-panel door with overlight with
margin-lights; No.77 has late C20 door. No.11 to right return
has flight of steps to central entrance a board door with
overlight with margin-lights. Right return has 3-window range,
stucco detailing continues from front facade. Similar
fenestration.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: No.79 has individual balconies to
ground-, first- and second-floor windows, that to ground has
central roundel, first-floor has quatrefoil, second floor has
embellished sticks and central scroll; railings with wreathed
handrail to sides of steps with embellished stick balusters to
left and lancet railings to right. No.77 has stick balusters
to sides of steps, those to left are embellished, and scrolled
lozenge to area railings. Right return (No.11) has reset
spearhead railings.
