House, now part restaurant. C18-early C19 frontage with
probably C17 timber-framed rear wings, one of which is listed
separately (qv); alterations and repairs c1973. Painted red
brick in Flemish bond. Plain tile roof with moulded eaves
cornice and brick stacks to right end and side.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. Single-window range of 8/8-pane boxed
sashes with channelled voussoirs, keystones and sillbands, the
2nd-floor window smaller. Ground floor has remodelled
shopfront bay window with multipane glazing and vestigial
sillband. Segmental-arched doorway on left with C20 door.
Rear: 3-storeyed C17 wing has square-panelled timber-framing
with painted brick nogging and jettied first floor; plain tile
roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
House wing was listed on 23.5.73.
