Gate piers, boundary pier and walls
to Montpellier House (both parts)

GV II

Pair of gate piers at east and 3 piers to centre of carriage
sweep with boundary pier to west and low walls adjoining, with
walls attached to right and to rear. c1832. Ashlar over brick
piers, alike; brick walls with ashlar coping. Piers square on
plan, approx 2m high, shafts have recessed panels with
cornices and shaped caps. Low walls surmounted by renewed
railings (not included) return to right for approx 30m to
similar pier then walls approx 2m high for approx 30m,
returning to Suffolk Road for approx 50m.
A significant streetscape feature forming part of a
distinguished group of buildings in Suffolk Square.
