GV II

House, now in commercial use. Late C17 with earlier C17
origins, and later adaptations. Painted brick over fragmentary
earlier timber frame with heavy slate roof. 2 storeys with
attic, 2-window range. Inserted shop front to ground floor,
and inserted 3-light windows above, the segmentally-arched
heads of earlier windows visible above. Scalloped brick frieze
above first floor, and slight timbering exposed in 2 gabled
dormers, probably added during C19.
INTERIOR: traces of framing with some brick nogging are
visible, and there is a late C18 staircase, with turned
spindles and heavy moulded rail.
