Pair of houses, now offices. 1777, altered C19. Red/brown
brick in Flemish bond, render, painted brick, painted stone
dressings, hipped Westmorland slate roof with lead dressings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys plus cellar, 6-bay front, arranged 3:3,
with plinth, 2nd floor band, modillion eaves cornice. Ground
floor has C19 bank front with 5-bay arcade, containing plain
sashes with moulded semicircular arches each with triple
keystone, broad brick pilasters between.
The left-hand end window was originally a doorway. Beneath the
4 other windows blocked cellar openings with arches having
keystones. To the right a tripartite sash with plain
pilasters, and a panelled door with fanlight, plain pilastered
surround and panelled reveals. An entablature runs the full
length, with paired console brackets over the end door
positions. To 1st floor 6 full-height glazing bar sashes. To
2nd floor 6 smaller similar sashes. Painted flat wedge brick
arches to window openings. Rendered gable end. Date 1777 on
rainwater head.
