House, now offices with attached gate, railings and wall.
c1710-40 with later additions and alterations. Stucco over
brick with hipped renewed tile roof, rear stack; cast-iron
railings and stone wall. 3 storeys on basement and with
attics, 1:3:1 first-floor windows. Chamfered plinth, first-
and second-floor bands. Central breakforward, renewed eaves
cornice and blocking course. 6/6 sashes throughout, taller to
ground floor, except central first-floor window an 8/8 sash,
all in palin reveals and with sills. Attic has 2 roof dormers
with 4-pane fixed lights. Basement has renewed windows.
Central entrance: 3 steps to 6-raised-and-fielded-panel door
with overlight and gothick glazing bars, doorcase has plain
pilasters and hood on acanthus brackets.
INTERIOR: retains original joinery including panelled shutters
to some windows.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to either side of door on low
walls those to left are renewed, those to right have bars with
S-finials and urn finials to standards; gate to basement.
All the listed buildings in College Yard (qqv) form a good
group and part of the setting for the Cathedral (qv).
