2 houses, now public house. Main range to right of C16 with
upper storey added c1666-78; later additions and alterations
including infill to rear of c1700; C19 fenestration;
restorations, rebuilding to left gable end and rear left
extension of late C20; house to left adjacent to no. 7(qv) is
late C18.
Main range: timber frame with plaster infill and brick to
rear; pinkish-brown brick rear stack at right with pot. Range
to left: brick, rendered to ground floor, colourwashed. Plain
tile roofs. Main range: L-plan. 3 storeys, jettied at first
floor, 2 first-floor windows. Timber-framing: bressumer beam
to jetty over ground floor; first floor has remains of close
studding; second floor has box frames; right return has square
panels of framing, and diagonal brace at first floor. Ground
floor: off-centre right entrance a 6-panel door, studded. To
left a 4/8 sash, to right a 3/6 sash. Chamfered bressumer beam
with ovolo moulding, renewed at left. First floor: 2
shallow-bay casement windows on shaped sills with brackets and
continuous hood. Second floor: 2 similar indows with sills and
hoods. Wooden eaves band. Right return has four renewed 8/8
sashes. Range to left: 2 storeys, 2 first-floor windows.
Entrance a 6-panel door at left, to right a 4/8 sash with
relieving arch over. First floor has two 3/6 horned sashes.
Modillion eaves band.
INTERIOR: right part retains chamfered beams to rear at right
and exposed rafters. Corner fireplace to right at rear with
renewed chimneypiece. Upper floors not inspected. Forms a
group with Nos 3, 5, and 7 Fish Street (qv) and Nos 21 and 23
Fish Street. The Farrier's Arms now incorporates No.7. The
timber-framed houses, Nos 9 and 21, frame the view of
Worcester Cathedral (qv) from Fish Street.
