Gate lodge. Probably c1834-5, by Charles Day and Henry Rowe.
Ashlar over brick with concealed roof. Single storey, single
bay with 4-bay return. Plinth, Doric pilasters to ends and
between bays surmounted by crowning entablature and blocking
course. 6/6 sashes throughout in plain reveals and with tooled
architraves, some blind boxes. Entrances to returns: 4-panel
door and part-glazed door with overlights in plain reveals and
with tooled architraves.
INTERIOR: not inspected.

Forms an important part of the setting of Shire Hall (qv).
