2 semi-detached houses. c1830-40 with later additions and
alterations. Brick with painted stucco dressings, hipped slate
roof, party-wall ridge stack with oversailing detail and pots.
PLAN: double-depth, later flanking entrance wings of 2 storeys
under parapeted roof set back from main facade. Two-storey
rear service wings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar. 4 (1:2:1) first-floor windows.
Pilaster strips to ends and centre with linking string-course
at eaves in matching brick. 6/6 sashes to first- and
ground-floor, 3/6 sashes to second-floor, all in lain reveals
with sills and flat gauged-brick arches. 5-panel entrance
door, top 4 panels raised and fielded, (those to no. 22
glazed), bottom panel flush-beaded; fanlight to no 22 has
petal design glazing bar pattern; rusticated surround with
projecting capped keystone. External blind-boxes to windows of
main elevation, those to No.21 a debased version.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
NOTE: Of similar design to Nos 9 and 10 and 12 and 13 (qv) St.
George's Square.
