Pair of attached houses. 1840. Stuccoed. Slate hipped roof with moulded and bracketed eaves. Rendered stacks with yellow clay pots.
PLAN: Pair of attached houses with overall 5-bay front, side entrances and attached coach houses set back on either side.
Italianate style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 5-bay south east front, end bays advanced very slightly with pilasters; stringcourses, centre windows blind, sashes without glazing bars in pilastered architraves with bracketed cills, ground floor with round arches with keyblocks and continuous moulded imposts. Side entrances with round arches and later glazed porches; set back on right and left 1-storey 1-bay wings, the eaves cornice continued, with coach house on ground floor and window above, No.5 to left with large sash, No.6 on right with later canted bay window. Rear; sashes with glazing bars, gable-ended service and coach house wings.
INTERIOR: No.6 has original joinery including panelled doors and staircase with stick balusters and mahogany handrail wreathed over curtail and column newels; plaster ceiling cornices; range of service rooms in rear wing. Interior of No.5 not inspected.
A pair of stuccoed Italianate villas and one of a group of similar houses in Lyndhurst Road.
