Milestone, probably late C18/early C19, whitewashed stone. Triangular, flat top, straight back. Lettering reads 'TO WARRINGTON 3 MILES' (left); 'TO MANCHESTER 16 MILES' (right).

HISTORY: Marked on the 1848/9 OS map the milestone was probably erected in the late C18/early C19. Situated along a former C18 turnpike road, now the A57.
