Terrace of six houses. c1820.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double pitched double Roman tile roof with moulded stacks to the left of each house.
PLAN: Double depth.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and basements; each house has a two window front. Continuous returned coped parapet, stopped cornice, second floor sill band and ground floor platband; six/six-pane sash windows; six-panel doors to the right of each house, with reeded surrounds to the lowest panels, and fielded panels with inset corners to the upper. Door openings diminish in height from left to right. Nos.1, 3 and 6 have C20 windows; Nos.1 and 6 have cast iron balconettes to the ground floor windows. No. 1 has a painted ground floor and a lintel frieze above the door, with a lozenge motif. No. 2 has a moulded lintel to the door with a neoclassical relief of crossed torches between branches above. No. 3 has a wide moulded lintel with a lozenge motif. Nos. 4 and 5 have inverted corners to upper panels of the door and reeded ones to the base. No. 6 has horizontal bars to simple first floor balconettes.
INTERIORS: Not inspected.
HISTORY: A characteristic late Regency terrace, Albion Terrace formed part of the western expansion of Bath and would have stood on the very periphery of the city when first built.
