Pair of semi-detached houses, formerly symmetrical. c1792, altered mid and late C19 with C20 additions.
MATERIALS: Painted render over rubblestone. No.37 to right roughcast with raised quoins, steeply pitched slate mansard roof hipped to front of central block with moulded stack to party wall and to ridge and gable end of rear left side wing.
EXTERIOR: Each house has two storeys and attic, with a two-window front. Continuous parapet, cornice band and ground floor platband to front. Facade and wings probably formerly spanned by coped parapet and cornice. Mid C19 attic storey added and parapet raised to front and side wings, that to front of No.37 slopes down to original parapet level on right return. Parapet of No.36 to left attached to No.35 (not included), second alteration to it is visible. Late C19 two storey canted bay to left has cornices over plate glass windows, those to first floor have segmental arches, those to ground floor have semicircular arches with moulded keystones. Mid C19 high shallow hood on shaped brackets and overlight over original six-panel door, above it plate glass sash window in raised surround. C20 garage projects to right. No.37 has two/two-pane sash windows with horizontal glazing bars, one to each storey of front block with raised surrounds. Similar paired windows to attic of left wing, two-light, two-pane casement window to first floor and blocked window below. Close to angle late C19 tiled pent roof supported by bracket to right and wall to left over planked door and leaded overlight. Above porch to right return narrow leaded window.
