Sunday school room. Dated 1816.
MATERIALS: Squared and coursed rubble front, ashlar porch, rubble returns, slate roof.
PLAN: Single near square room with lower porch attached right, C20 range added to rear.
EXTERIOR: Single storey, with two glazing-bar sashes to cambered heads and in plat surrounds, between incised tablet inscribed `Twerton Sunday School 1816'. Plain pilasters to quoins, and low-pitched hipped roof has box eaves. To right, set back, ashlar wall with flush six-panel door under cornice and blocking course with coping. On rear wall, centre, tall ashlar stack, in the valley between original and new ranges.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: This is a fairly early example of such a building, reflecting the pedagogic tendencies of the Evangelical Movement.
