House in row, with shop. Late C18 with C20 additions.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, asbestos cement slate roof.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic and two large C20 dormers in steep mansard roof, three window front, first floor has central four/eight sash flanked by two/six sashes, and second floor has similar windows. Ground floor has three-light display window, with flush panelled door with transom light, left, and six-panel fielded with transom light, right. Former list refers to large double door with architrave to ground floor. Ground floor platband, moulded cornice to shallow blocking course and parapet, large stack to right.
INTERIOR: Inspected 1982, has original Georgian stairs with Doric colonnettes, twelve pane sash window on stair. Property appears to have been built as pair with No.4(qv), with which platband and cornice are continuous.
