Five terrace blocks of purpose-built flats. c1880. By Wallace Gill.
MATERIALS: Machine cut, random sized limestone ashlar, slate roofs with diagonally-set moulded brick stacks to party walls.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys with cellar, each unit has symmetrical four-window range. Continuous coped parapet, first and ground floor platbands and plinth, mostly horned two/two-pane sash windows, two-window central entrance ranges are stepped forward under small pediments with one window to each side. Cornices at ground floor platband level of central ranges step forward and rise as semicircular arches over stilted plain fanlights, below fanlights are hoods on shaped brackets and four flush panel doors flanked by paired windows.
