Summary


A mid-C19 former coach house, now dwelling, situated to the rear of Thurston House

Description


An C19 coach house to the rear of Thurston House (qv), now in use as a separate dwelling.

MATERIALS: limestone ashlar with hipped pantile roof.

PLAN: a five-unit plan.

EXTERIOR: two storeys, five-window range. Castellated parapet spans south garden front, small paned Tudor arched windows to first floor, two similar windows flank C20 ogee arched door to left of centre, to right two wider ogee arches with C20 small paned windows, and similar arch to planked door right of centre flank Tudor arched window similar to those on first floor. Left return in Linden Gardens has a C20 door, rear has coped parapet and C20 windows.

INTERIOR: Not inspected.

Forms an interesting group with Thurston House (qv), a villa of c1830.

The coach house to the rear of Thurston House was built in the C19. It has now been converted into a dwelling house.
