Description

Robert Lugar, early 19th century with modern alterations and additions. Painted pebbledash. Single storey 3-bay cottage orne with bowed elevation, trelis and later additions.

E (MAIN) ELEVATION: bowed end to W; shallow trellised verandah curving round bay of original cottage; door and window to centre left with advanced bay to right, window with Tudor hoodmould. Window at centre of bowed left return end. Later piend-roofed addition to outer right; modern wing at rear.

Modern top-hopper windows; grey slate roof, piended at E end, bowed at W. Tall corniced centre ridge stack, octagonal cans.

BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIERS: painted sandstone; sturdy gothic gatepiers, gabletted with moulded caps; centre gates with flanking pedestrian gatepiers. Curved quadrant wall with moulded gabletted coping; paired blind arrowslits punctuating wall.
