The 1733 date-stone over the entrance. This certainly looks like a doorway. The inner softer rubble fill above the lintel has fallen out leaving it hollow. From the interior, the rubble coursing of what in effect is the inner leaf / doorway infill, does not clearly reflect a doorway. Perhaps this doorway (I still think it is one), was closed up early on and there was another main entrance.
