Description

Circa 1850. Single storey octagonal room with adjoining
2-storey tower. Squared and snecked sandstone rubble
and ashlar dressings. Raised base courses, chamfered
arrises to openings. Moulded cornice to corbelled,
crenellated parapets. Doorway at base of tower
approached by straight flight of steps. Windows on all
elevations.

Statement of Interest

Built for Duke of Roxburgh, overlooking the sea,

currently with golf links below. Possibly by J Anderson

Hamilton who used a similarly severe Baronial at

Balgone. Change of Category B to C(S) 17.5.89.
