Elmbank Fochabers in the very early 1900s

Uploader's Comments

Elmbank Fochabers was built in the very early 19th Century and occupied in the early part of that century by Dhuie Russell Tully the artist. Her husband John Tully was Clerk of Works to His Grace the Duke of Richmond and Gordon, and an accomplished carver of salmon. IN 1950 it passed to their nephews, sons of John Anderson McNie, Seaforth Highlanders, and was extensively renovated and converted by Ian Anderson Brand McNie, Superintendent of the Deundi Tea Company, and his wife Dr Helen McNie. His widow lived in the property until she died in 1995, having taken great pride in its maintenance. Sadly, following her death, her older son allowed it to fall into its present ruinous state.
