Dr William Kelly, circa 1920. Square-plan squat obelisk war memorial to 1st and 2nd World Wars. Coursed, rough-faced grey and pink granite. Base course; tooled shaft with consecration cross and bands of lettering, that to top reading "IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF BIRSE WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR"; stepped, finely finished pyramidal cap.
Birse War Memorial sits on the top of Corsedardar, overlooking the valley of the Dee and the valley of the Feugh. It commemorates the men of Finzean and Birse who fell in the two World Wars (Third Statistical Account, p423).
