Description

Closeburn-New Cummock line; John Miller engineer; opened 28.10.1850. Railway viaduct, 6 round arches spanning Carron

glen, carrying double track over Carron water and A702.

Channelled, bullfaced red ashlar with rusticated voussoirs;

band at imposts and below parapets (latter rebuilt in brick,

with iron handrail); outer pilaster strips.
