Walter Newall of Dumfries, architect. Circa 1830. 2-storey
3-bay farmhouse with rear wing. West elevation: pink ashlar
(other elevations contrasting red and pink sandstone or
whitewashed); gabled central porch (door in side elevation),
sash windows with 12-pane glazing; saw-toothed skews;
corniced end stacks. Reear wing 2 storeys, 2 bays,
(presumably raised in height) with 2 gabled dormer heads
facing south, lean-to in re-entrant angle. All roofed with
graded slates.
Loudon's illustration shows a piend-roofed house with
columned porch and ridge stacks a degree of licence was used
when publishing his designs. Steading too altered to merit
listing.
