James Flett, 1932 1934. 2 storey, symmetrical H plan villa with Art Deco detail. Bull faced red sandstone with ashlar dressings. Cill courses, lintel courses, cornice, tall parapet composed of metal balustrading between moulded ashlar pedestals, architraved windows.
W (GARDEN) ELEVATION: recessed centre block, glazed verandah with cast iron columns; 6 windows to 1st floor above. 3 bay advanced end returns. Paired windows to centre flanked by single windows; each bay framed by stylized pilasters; centre bay surmounted by moulded parapet.
N (SIDE) ELEVATION: symmetrically disposed 8 bays at ground with 7 bays at 1st floor, some single windows and paired, architraved door to far left with 2 leaf door and fanlight. Mirror image to S side.
E (REAR) ELEVATION: recessed centre block with advanced wings. Symmetrically disposed elevations. 12 pane timber sash and case windows. Flat roof. Cast iron rainwater goods. Modern disabled ramps.
INTERIOR: not seen.
Grierson House was built as an observation villa.
