Probably 16th century. Random rubble beehive dovecot
constructed in 3 diminishing tiers each tier capped with a
rat course, with shallow rubble domed roof pierced by central
apex flight hole. Doorway in S face with simple ashlar jambs
under relieving arch. 2 small flight holes above 2nd rat
course.
INTERIOR: approximately 700 small closely fitted stone
nesting boxes line interior from floor to apex flight
hole in diminishing rows.
Commanding site near cliff edge above Findlater Castle and
Sunnyside Bay. Built to serve medieval Findlater Castle,
the ruins of which are on the promontory below.
