Description

Early 19th century. Single storey courtyard plan steading. Cream sandtsone rubble, droved ashlar dressings.

N RANGE: threshing barn with granary.

Single segmental cart arch to outer left on courtyard (S) elevation. Door to outer right on N elevation with gabled dormerheaded loading door above. Arrowslit to outer left. Horsemill to centre.

HORSEMILL: octgonal-plan. Timber lintel to opening to N face; blocked opening to SW. Pantiles.

E RANGE: gabled, single storey block: derelict to SE.

S RANGE: single storey.

W RANGE: single storey.

FARMHOUSE to NW of range; harled with piended slate addition to W, door on return to left.

12-pane sash and case windows to farmhouse. Red pantiled roofs, corrugated repairs to N range, slate easing course to farmhouse, ashlar coped skews, rendered stacks.

Statement of Interest

A good example of a small steading, little altered and still in agricultural use (1990).
