Earlier 19th century. Single storey and attic, rectangular-plan cottage (originally 2). Coursed stugged rubble to front, random rubble elsewhere, stugged ashlar dressings, purple slate roof. Painted droved ashlar window and door margins to front, hoodmoulds to ground floor; plate glass casements to ground floor S elevation, lattice-paned casements to attic, mostly modern timber windows elsewhere; bracketted eaves; heightened, coped masonry end stacks.
S ELEVATION: 2 multi-pane doors to centre, window to left and right,
2 gable dormerheaded windows to attic.
E GABLE: 2 windows to ground floor and attic.
W GABLE: 2 windows to ground floor and attic.
N ELEVATION: small additions, modern dormers.
INTERIOR: 2 re-used datestones, ?PH 1727? to left, ?1726? to right.
Nye Cottage was formerly a symmetrical double cottage, and part of the Rossie estate.
