Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan,
gabled house with Tudor-Gothic details, now with modern school buildings attached at rear N and E. Cream and white painted harl with painted sandstone dressings and margins; chamfered reveals; raised cills. Base course; Tudor hood moulds; blank shields in gablehead. Projecting bracketted eaves.
S ELEVATION: 3 bays; advanced gabled bay to outer left; canted bay at ground with half-piend roof; window at 1st floor, shield in gablehead. 2 bays recessed to right with Tudor-Gothic porch set in re-entrant angle; octagonal piers with battered base framing 3-centred entrance, now blocked as window; similar door at right return; parapet; modern door with segmental 2-pane fanlight. Window directly above. Bay with gable breaking eaves to right; tripartite, segmental-headed window at ground, single window at 1st floor, vent at gablehead.
E ELEVATION: 2 bay main block; gable breaking eaves to outer left. Canted bay at ground, shield at gablehead. Narrow window off-centre to left at 1st floor; windows symmetrically disposed to outer right at gound and 1st floor. Single storey, single bay block to outer right. House attached to modern school building by 4-bay recessed block to right.
W ELEVATION: triparite window at ground outer right, single blocked window at 1st floor. Recessed 2-bay block to left.
4- over 6-pane sash and case windows; 6-pane over plate glass for outer bay 1st floor windows at S elevation; plate glass sash and case for canted windows. Grey slate roof with lead flashings; diamond-set, rendered and block coped ridge stacks, circular cans.
INTERIOR: rib-vaulted vestibule; plain cornices. 3-centred arch on paired colonettes; plain panelled doors; plain stair.
BOUNDARY WALL & GATEPIERS: rubble wall with harl-pointing, (modern re-pointing with cement), semi-circular coping. Ashlar piers with trefoil arch panels, shaped cap, that to left pier missing.
