Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical house. White harling with painted stone surrounds to openings. Raised window surrounds and cills; 1st floor windows breaking eaves in gabled dormerheads.

NE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorway at centre; boarded door. Single windows in flanking bays.

4-pane glazing in sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; brick mutual stacks; 19th century hoppers.

Statement of Interest

Part of a terrace known in the 19th century as Tinklers Row: "(A) Row

of mean-looking cottages 1-storey high, inhabited by Tinkers, Muggers, Horsethieves, and Basket Makers, being the descendents of the original stock of gipsies that once infested this part of the country." Each cottage would almost certainly have been thatched, but all have now been raised in height and slated.
