Description

PRINCIPAL ENTRANCE GATEPIERS AT SW: later 18th century. 3 gatepiers, ashlar and Aberdeen bond set on plinths with ball finials, round-coped rubble quadrants to 2 similar smaller piers; rubble boundary walls adjoining.

GATEPIERS (TO DEMOLISHED HOME FARM HOUSE): later 18th century.

2 gatepiers, ashlar and Aberdeen bond with rectangular banded ball finials on elongated necks; rubble boundary walls adjoining.

Statement of Interest

These gatepiers are stylistically similar to the attic and finials at Gagie House Summerhouse (dated 1762). The adjoining walls are extensive and an integral part of the group.
